and she's not even pretty!: There is nothing wrong with having privilege.
Having privilege doesn’t mean you are inherently evil, unless you wield said privilege to do evil things. Having privilege doesn’t mean you are inherently racist, unless you wield said privilege to do/say/think racist things.
Having privilege doesn’t mean you are need to be…
And don’t get pissed off at me when I point out your privilege. Get pissed off at society that your mere existence is a tool to oppress others. Own your privilege, own that you are indirectly (and sometimes directly) responsible for oppression of others. Nothing will change until the privileged accept that they’re privileged and can move past it to change systematic oppression.
However, is it possible to say someone is privileged, in the form of an attack?
Anything can be used as an attack. It’s a hard question to pick apart… but no, calling someone privileged does nothig but point out that they are. If used as an attack, what SHOULD be said is that they are privileged AND are unwilling to acknowledge or use their privilege positively.
Please don’t make me type ‘privilege’ again. I can only spell it right so many times.
Sorry, OP, but you’re not BORN with educational privilege, seeing as how you work for those degrees.
